Switchgear is a combination of electrical disconnect switches, circuit breakers, fuses, and other protective devices that are used to control, protect, and isolate electrical equipment in a power system. These devices are typically installed together in a metal enclosure or cabinet, forming a switchgear assembly. It ensures the safety of an electrical system by facilitating the safe operation, maintenance, and protection of the electrical network. It enables operators to de-energize specific parts of the system for maintenance or repair work, as well as to clear faults by automatically interrupting the flow of electricity when abnormal conditions like short circuits or overloads occur.
Qinghao Electric is developing and producing a variety series switchgear, which can be classified into different types based on various factors such as voltage level (LV--below 1000V, MV--up to 35kV, HV--above 35kV), installation location (indoor or outdoor), and the type of technology used (like air-insulated, gas-insulated, or oil-insulated). Main types include: KYN, XGN, HXGN, XGW, DFW, GGD, GCK, GBD, PGL MNS and so on.

Main Characteristics
1. Voltage and Current Ratings: Switchgear is handling specific voltage and current levels based on the electrical system they are installed in.
2. Interrupting Capacity: This refers to the ability of a circuit breaker or switch to safely interrupt the flow of fault currents.
3. Isolation Capability: Switchgear allows for safe isolation of electrical circuits for maintenance or repair work.
4. Protection Features: Built-in protection mechanisms like overcurrent, undervoltage, and earth fault protection relays to automatically disconnect faulty parts of the system.
5. Arc Interruption: In the event of a fault, switchgear is able to safely extinguish the electric arc that forms when breaking a circuit under load.
6. Control and Monitoring: Advanced switchgear may have integrated control and monitoring systems.
